For those of you who read Part 1 of this series: From this Day Forward: Seek God, you may skip the first paragraph. It’s the same as last week 😀The Study
Each time we meet, our LifeGroup has dinner of some sort, then we sit around and chit chat about life for too long before we start a study of some kind that will reinforce our marriages and/or our faith. The first series we went through together was a free message series that Pastor Craig from LifeChurch teaches about building strong marriages.
It is called From This Day Forward, and I would like to share the messages with you! I think these videos are fantastic, and I truly believe that this advice can help build strong, healthy marriages, as well as help crumbling marriages pull themselves together.
Did you and your spouse set aside time just for the two of you last week? Did you have some fun together?
This is an area that Hubby and I are really struggling in right now. I mean really bad. I blame it on the kiddo haha I mean, I love the little guy to death, but it is SO hard to have adult alone time with a munchkin running around. Add to that the fact that we no longer live less than an hour from Gran & Pop, AND that we moved to a new town where we don’t know anyone (Think: Babysitters) and now you know: We’re really in a rut. We had these great intentions of date night once a week, and it sounded heavenly…but it just hasn’t happened for us. Little Man is almost one year old, and we’ve had dinner without him exactly ONE time. And that wasn’t even just the two of us! It was dinner with a group of friends!
This is something we desperately need to work on. And it’s going to take just that: Work. “Dating” your spouse may not be easy, but I think it is important. I’m talking to myself here, too. In the coming months, Hubby and I have decided to plan at least one date night each per month. We are going to try to incorporate equal ratios of face to face time, side to side time, AND belly button to belly button time. It’s exciting! I so miss date nights, and I really hope we are able to follow through with this!Let’s See What Craig has to say about Staying PureFrom This Day Forward, Part 4: Stay PureThings to Think About
What boundaries can be put into place in your marriage today that will help both you and your spouse stay pure?
