Dermstore BeautyFix Subscription Box Review

Hello! Glad you could join me as I review the products from my 1st DermStore BeautyFix Subscription Box. BeautyFix is a monthly subscription box from DermStore and features right at $100 worth of beauty products that are hand-selected by a team of beauty experts. It is $24.95 per month. I chose this box because I have been on the DermStore website and they carry such a vast array of products I figured I would receive a pretty good product selection to try out from them.

This month’s BeautyFix box contained the following: Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist, REN Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, Skinclinical Extreme Healing Daily Treatment, DermStore Eye Love You Brush Set, Tocca Beauty Crema Da Mano Hand Cream, Glytone Antioxidant Anti-Aging Night Cream, Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Teasing Dust and Dermelect ME Nail Polish.

I grouped all for of these products together since they are all facial products. I suppose to be fair though, the  Skinclinical Extreme Healing Daily Treatment can be used on the whole body and the site I found did include face. When I tried it on my under-eye area it did help moisturize and did not bother my eyes at all. The full size is 8 oz. and retails for $39.95.

However, I don’t think I’d pay that much for a tube of body cream.  The Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist did feel nice and cool going on my face even if it did have a slightly medicinal scent to it. It does contain some amount of salicylic acid so I’m not sure how this would do in the long run for me. But it did not make my face sting when I applied it. The size in the box is a 2 oz. so I will use it and see how it goes. The full size is 4.2 fl oz. and retails for $38.

These last two, the REN Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and the Glytone Antioxidant Anti-Aging Night Cream I am not even going to open. They are both a brightening product which I absolutely cannot use, which is sad, I was looking forward to the antioxidants in the Glytone product 🙁 The full size of the REN product is 1.7 fl oz and retails for $55 and the Glytone product comes in 1 fl oz and retails for $90.

Now this product, the Tocca Beauty Crema Da Mano Hand Cream, I am totally down with. The one I received is called Cleopatra and is a Grapefruit-Cucumber scent and it smells divine. It’s sort of a sweet but citrusy scent if that can be a thing. A little goes a long way with this stuff. The first night I used it I squeezed out a tad too much and had enough for both hands and arms. I was more careful the next night. It absorbs well and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. Leaves my hands feeling satiny smooth and very moisturized. I’ve put it by my bed to use at night. The one in the box is a full size, which is 2 oz and it retails for $10.

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Teasing Dust, 0.38 oz

The Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Teasing Dust, I’m just not so sure about this. I most definitely do not, for any reason, tease my hair. I stopped at the end of the 80’s when big hair went away. I have wavy permed hair so I tried sprinkling a little on my roots, flipped my head upside down and sorta rubbed in to my scalp. When I flipped back over I will admit that there was more volume at the roots of my hair, the top wasn’t so flat anymore. I kind of like that, but the down side is that the powder gives my hair a dirty feeling and makes it looks very dull and matte, which I don’t like.

I may use it a few more time to see what I really think about it, I’m just undecided right now. The product in the box is a full size, which to me seems small. It is only .38 oz and it retails for $23. Not so sure about bang for your buck here.

I know it seems strange to swatch on a piece of paper but…shellac, I’m not gonna mess it up. This is the Dermelect ME Nail Polish in the color Above It.  This polish has keratin-protein, peptides and of all things, alpha hydroxy acid. This polish seemed really runny to me and took a while to dry so I’m not sure how it would perform on application to nails. This is a color I will use next summer when we get sandal weather back. This is the second subscription where I have received this particular brand, they must be making the subscription box rounds with this one. This is a full size and it retails for $14.

Lastly we come to the DermStore Eye Love You Brush Set. This is a trio of eye makeup brushes sold at the DermStore. This set retails for $18.99 and this is the full set, they are travel size. The set consists of a fan brush, shadow brush and a dual ended smudge brush and they have entirely synthetic bristles. I like the fan brush, I think it’d be good for some light blending and I did like the smudge brush when I used it yesterday. The shadow brush, it feels more like a concealer brush, the bristles are stiff not soft. I think this would be suited to use with a cream shadow, maybe… but I know I wouldn’t use it to apply my regular eyeshadow.

That’s it for my first review of the BeautyFix Subscription Box by DermStore. Every product in my review can be purchased directly from Amazon Amazon, they carry a little bit of everything and you may very well find good deals on some things while you are at it. The closest I could calculate the value of this box to be is $84.99, that is with two of the product values unaccounted for, the REN Glycolic Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask and the Glytone Antioxidant Anti-Aging Night Cream.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my thoughts and opinions on these products. If you, my reader, have any experience with these products I’d love to hear what you think. So please leave a comment if you would like to add to the discussion and if this has informed or helped you in any way please feel free to share me on Facebook or Twitter by clicking one of my links.

Until next time my lovelies…
