Facebook Messenger is getting ready for end-to-end encrytion

After introducing end-to-end encryptionto WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger is also getting readyforprogressing to bring it soon. The social media giantrecently declaredthat it’s testing a brand newfeature “Secret Conversations” to support end-to-end encryptionon demand. Unlike WhatsApp, in Facebook Messengerend-to-end encryptionwon’t be turned on by default. whereas chatting onthis app, if the sender needs to mentionone thing sensitive, they’llchoose the “Secret Conversation” feature and choosean appropriate message expiration time which may vary between five seconds and over six hours. The message are going to beoffered to the receiver through outthe chosentime framesolely. it’llautomaticallyget deleted onceit’s seen by receiver once the time expires.”Our technology uses the Signal Protocol developed by Open Whisper Systems,” said Facebook in an official post.End-to-end encryption is especially meant for texts. Facebook presently isn’t supporting multimedia system content like GIFs or videos or different features.In April, WhatsApp messaging app introduced end-to-end encryption for all its users by default.
