A solar storms, known as magnetic storms, are attacking the Earth and threatens to paralyze the power grid and communications on the ground.
In the announcement released on 17/3, Institute of Meteorology and the National Oceanic Administration (NOAA) said the solar storms are classified at the level of the G4-level scale from G1 – G5 G5 is the most powerful level . This is the result of two large explosions on the surface of the outermost layer of the Sun, known as the corona (corona) or solar fire, which occurred last Friday 15/3.
The explosion led to the phenomenon of coronal mass ejections, and trigger the charge huge cloud extreme heat into space. These clouds cause magnetic storms with high intensity, enough to penetrate the Earth’s protective magnetic field, while providing a significant amount of charged particles into the atmosphere.
Solar storm formed from an explosion on the surface of the planet (also called solar flares), emit X-rays and ultraviolet light to Earth at the speed of light.
According to NOAA, solar storms can affect the voltage control system on a large scale or protection of the grid. Due to the influence of magnetic storms, high-frequency radio waves on Earth will be choppy or signal loss in a few hours, while the operation of the satellite monitoring system is in danger of being interrupted.
In the US, people in places like Alaska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington, North and South Dakota, said the aurora was seen emanating from the storm. It is expected that European citizens will have the opportunity to admire the spectacle of the day 17/3.
Solar storm formed from an explosion on the surface of the planet (also called solar flares), emit X-rays and ultraviolet light to Earth at the speed of light. A few hours later, the energy storage element flows, electrons and protons can infect power for satellites, and do short of electronic devices attached. Next, the heavy clouds billion tonnes containing magnetic plasma from the Sun will “respond” to Earth after a day or so.
According to experts, the explosion on the Sun are rare, but there is still the danger threatening satellites, global positioning systems and power transmission lines. If this happens, the solar storm could cause widespread damage, cripple vital systems such as electrical, radio, GPS navigation systems, water supply systems operate by electric pumps.
