So I’ve been trying to train for a half marathon but I’ve had a couple set backs that have prevented me from doing as many long runs…I was sick for about a week and a couple weeks before that I had a bad reaction to a bug bite leaving my arm throbbing for 5 days. Needless to say when I went on my 10 mile run, which is supposed to be my longest run prior to the half, I was not in the distance shape I needed to be in and I was dogging it for the last four miles.
At first I was pretty hard on myself, but then I remembered that every runner has a bad day and although I was pretty sore the next day it’s a reminder that my muscles are repairing and getting stronger so when I do run a longer distance I’ll be in better shape and I won’t be dogging it again near the end of the run.
My next long run is in 4 days and my half is in 14 days. I’ll keep you guys posted on how I do!
