Sandy Bridge E3-1275 E3-1245 E3-1235 E3-1225 Server processors
The Sandy bridge processor will be released for the consumer as well as the server market. While there are a lot of information about the consumer market, the information about the sandy bridge server processors is scanty.
What we know so far, is that, similar on the fasion of the core i3, core, i5 and core i7 processor numbers, the server processors will start its part numbering from E3, E5 and E7.
In this discussion we will focus on the part numbers E3-1275 E3-1245 E3-1235 E3-1225 for the Sandy Bridge server processors. All of the E3-1275 E3-1245 E3-1235 E3-1225 processors have 4 cores, have TDP rating of 95 Watts and fit in LGA 1155 socket. While the E3-1275 , E3-1245 and E3-1235 parts have L3 Cache of 8 MB, the E3-1225 has an L3 cache of 6 MB.
The core frequency of the processors are as follows.
E3-1275 3.4 GHz
E3-1245 3.3 GHz
E3-1235 3.2 GHz
E3-1225 3.1 GHz
All of these processors have intel HD Graphics 200 in built into it. There is so far no information available about the graphics frequency. We also do not have any information about the turbo frequency of the CPU. Probably someone from intel can clarify.
Server application may not need the graphics and with this in mind intel E3 series also has processors without the graphics. You may like to check the part numbers E3-1280, E3-1270, E3-1240 and E3-1230 and E3-1220 if you are looking for the Sandy Bridge server processors without graphics.
