The Belgian football squad members have had another successful week in the Premiership and La Liga. Here is a recap of this weekend’s action from Belgian players. Everton winger scored in the 1-1 draw with West Brom, scoring an early with an assist from fellow Belgian teammate Romelu Lukaku.Other strike partner Christian Benteke scored in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool. Villa went 2-0 in the first half but Liverpool soon caught up. Keeper Simon Mignolet conceded 2 goals in the draw against Villa. Thibault Courtois conceded one goal in Atletico’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla but Madrid still stay top of the league, joint on 51 points with Barca.
Captain Vincent Kompany featured in City’s 4-2 win over Cardiff and Moussa Dembele and Nacer Chadli were active in Spurs 3-1 win at Swansea. Winger Eden Hazard played in Chelsea’s 3-1 win at United.
Players still struggling to book their plane ticket include Thomas Vermaelen who wasn’t selected in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Fulham. Fellaini didn’t make an impact against Chelsea. Jan Vertonghen remains injured with a calf problem.
Looking at the transfer market, Kevin De Bruyne is still linked with a £30 million move to German side Wolfsburg after struggling to get a place at Chelsea. More recently, Spurs’s has been linked to moves abroad to get more playing time and keep his world cup dream for Belgium alive.
