in Brazil took place on December 6th 2014. Managers flocked from all over corners of the world to see who their side would be playing in the upcoming competition in June. The top seeded teams were placed first in their groups with the idea that two top seeded teams should avoid each other the qualifiers and be given an advantage for their recent form.

After being undefeated in Group A of the World Cup qualifiers with 8 wins and 2 draws, Belgium were seeded 5th by the World FIFA rankings. And so, when the gorgeous Fernanda Lima called out the draw, Belgium was top of Group H with Algeria, Russia and South Korea the other teams.

Since the draw was announced on Friday, Belgium has been a strong favourite to progress to the last 16. The

are still a dark horse at 16/1 respectively. Belgium were given a good group with Russia posing the only real threat in the group stages and Algeria (ranked 26th) and South Korea (ranked 54th). Russia are managed by former England Manager . The Postman Pat look-a-like did not have great success with the England squad but it will be interesting to see what he does with a physical Russian side. South Korea are known for Ji Sung Park and for having an unexpected run to the semi-finals at the 2002 World Cup at Japan and South Korea.

To discuss the World Cup Group that England have – in Group D, England have to face former Champions Italy, Uruguay and Costa Rica. Whilst Costa Rica seems like one of the easier matches, they will come up against a Mario Balotelli inspired Italy and Suarez and Forlan Uruguayan team. If England and Belgium both progress, they will play each other in the final.
