You must show past persecution, or at least a 10% chance of persecution if you return to your home country. The following are examples of persecution:
Serious physical harm,
Overly harsh punishment by police or government
Serious threats or attempts to harm
Coercive medical or psychological treatment
Severe discrimination and economic persecution
Severe criminal extortion or robbery.
