More than 30 years ago, Donald Steadman and David Helmer had a vision to utilize their knowledge, experience and desire to become leaders in the painting industry.

Beginning modestly as Don & Dave’s Painting in 1977 the process began, and in 1979 they incorporated as All-Tech Decorating Company.

All-Tech Decorating Company has grown due to the collaboration of a trained workforce, knowledgeable project managers and a dedicated support team. All-Tech Decorating has become a name synonymous with quality, reliability and safety. Utilizing the most advanced technology available, we are continuously improving the bidding process, field application methods and material selection to cost-effectively service our customers. In 2006, as a result of continued perseverance the company expanded and established a national presence with a new specialty coatings division. All-Tech Decorating has now expanded beyond the Chicagoland area to servicing clients throughout the US.

Owner, President

Don graduated from St. Xavier University in January of 1979 with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In April of 1979, Don and Dave decided to incorporate their small primarily residential painting business and ventured into commercial painting projects. Today, his primary responsibility is to oversee the administrative, sales and marketing functions of ATD.

Don is active in the industry associations and labor relations, and is a past president of the FCAI (Finishing Contractors Association of Illinois), board member for several years at NIPDI (Northern Illinois Painting and Decorating Institute), Chairman of the DC30 Pension fund, and a trustee on the DC30 Health and Welfare fund. He has also served as a board member of the National FCA (Finishing Contractors Association), and currently serves as a board member of the FCAC (Finishing Contractors Association of Chicago).

David has been in the Painting/Construction Business for the past 35 years. His career began when he and Don Steadman formed a partnership – “Don and Dave’s Painting” – where he spent his days in the field painting and his nights estimating. In 1979, along with his current partner, they incorporated All-Tech Decorating Company. His strong personal and business values have proven to be an important staple in the success of All-Tech Decorating Company. Today, he is a managing member involved in field operations and employee hiring for All-Tech Decorating Company. In addition, he is active in fostering existing business and developing new business opportunities for the future growth of the company.
