HTC ThunderBolt Review

The HTC Thunderbolt, coming in at ~$110 is a sturdy and powerful phone by HTC. It’s packed with 4G, 4.3″ Screen, 8MP Camera and upgradable to Android 4.0.

The HTC Thunderbolt, pricing at about $110 and offers a sturdy phone with impressive features such as 4G, 8MP Camera, HD Camcorder, 768MB of RAM and 8GB Memory.

Sandwich

The HTC Thunderbolt comes equipped with the standard 4.3” WVGA touch screen, same as the HTC EVO. It is able to display 800 x 480 pixel resolutions which is pretty standard affair and can support most video qualities today. The quality of the display is very impressive and there were no signs of pixelation on screen. The default text fonts were all easy to read with images looking stunning with crisp and vibrant visuals. The touch screen response time was also instantaneous. All applications were quick to load and navigation on the HTC Thunderbolt’s menu flowed smoothly. The phone has a good proximity sensor as well as a built in accelerometer that was able to adapt quickly to phone rotation. The HTC Thunderbolt clearly earns its moniker with its quick reaction and loading time.

The HTC Thunderbolt has an impressive 8 megapixel camera with flash which gives users the ability to take superb quality pictures. Unfortunately, it does not have a dedicated shutter button for the camera and needs the touch screen to take photos. This is just a slight nitpick. Overall, the HTC Thunderbolt camera tech goes above and beyond when it comes to performance. It also comes equipped with a front facing camera located right above the screen. The 8 megapixel camera does a great job of producing high quality image and is able to record 720p HD videos. The camera has various editing features available to the users like white balance control, exposure setting and other special built in effects. The camera has no problem taking picture even in a low light environment and can produce great pictures even when outdoors with excessive ambient light.

The HTC Thunderbolt’s speakerphone quality was average, nothing special but it did its job as expected. The audio was loud and clear enough to be understandable in noisier environments. The HTC Thunderbolt is compatible with Bluetooth headsets from Logitech and Motorola. The HTC Thunderbolt uses the 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 8655 Snapdragon and has a 768MB RAM. Overall, the HTC Thunderbolt delivers a quality handset at a reasonable price.
