This post continues a series of inspirational business quotes that continue to be a source of joy for me. As I come across different inspiring business quotes, I’ll be sure to share them with you all. At the very least, one day I will look back on all these wonderful quotes and who knows, it just might make a great gift for somebody. =)
“In business and in life, if you are not stepping out of your comfort zone, then you’re not growing…And if you’re not growing, then you’re dying.”
One thing I’ve learned over the past few years from the businesses that I’ve been a part of is that in business, you must always be OUT OF your comfort zone. When you are uncomfortable, you are growing. When you are comfortable, you’re NOT growing.
To give you an analogy, pretend that you’re stuck in a box. Let’s say that you’re growing your company, but one of the things that’s preventing you from moving to the next level is you haven’t outsourced as many responsibilities as you would have liked to.
What is stopping you? Is it fear? Is it lack of trust in other people’s abilities? Do you think that you can do it yourself in order to save costs? Do you not have the system or process in place that will allow you to support this? Or do you just love the feeling of having full control of your business because that’s the only way that things will be done correctly?
Whatever your answer is, understand that choosing NOT to outsource and give up responsibility for things in your business will only prevent YOU from achieving your full growth potential. The only way to achieve full growth potential in your business is to work ON your business and not IN your business. That was a concept that was taught to me by Michael E. Gerber quite some time ago.
For many people, including myself, outsourcing can be pretty darn uncomfortable. When that happens, I simply remind myself that by choosing NOT to outsource, I’m staying in my comfort zone. Or in other words, I’m staying stuck in a box. Quite honestly, that box isn’t very comfortable. =(
In order to understand the true potential of your business and be able to fully step away from the day-to-day operational processes, you must outsource and delegate the things that you don’t enjoy doing or the things that you’re not good at. Doing so not only allows your business to grow, but it also allows you to step out of the box where the instructions are fully visible on how to play the game of business.
I hope this inspirational business quote has helped you out in some way, shape, or form today. If there have been any inspiring business quotes that you would like to share with this community, feel free to include it in the comments section. We’d love to hear from you!
