SMPAC Announces South Milwaukee Youth Theatre’s Disney Cinderella KIDS and Legally Blonde JR.

By South Milwaukee Performing Arts CenterJuly 8, 2015

(South Milwaukee, WI) – South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center presents Cinderella KIDS on July 18th at 1:00 and 6:00 pm and Legally Blonde JR. on July 24th at 7:00 pm, July 25th at 7:00 pm and July 26th at 2:00 pm.

Disney’s Cinderella KIDS

Enjoy a show presented by our local kids (ages 5-11)! The timeless fairy tale becomes a new audience favorite in Disney’s Cinderella KIDS, an adaptation of the treasured animated film geared toward young performers. A young lady by the name of Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and is denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With a little help from her mice friends (and a LOT of help from her Fairy Godmother), Cinderella’s greatest dreams come true. She goes to the ball, meets Prince Charming, and falls in love.

With many great featured speaking roles and minimal solo singing, this is the perfect show for large ensembles. Most roles can be played by boys or girls and do not require strong vocal skills. The chorus of mice can be expanded infinitely – a great opportunity to involve elementary-age children. Although there are four narrators indicated in the script, you can cast even more depending on the size of your cast!

With a beautiful score, including, “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” and the classic, “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo,” Disney’s Cinderella KIDS will charm its way into your heart, and remind audiences that dreams really come true. Music adapted by Bryan Louiselle; Music arranged by Brian Louiselle; Music by Mack David; Lyrics by Mack David and Al Hoffman; Music by Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston; Lyrics by Jerry Livingston; Book adapted by Marcy Heisler.

Legally Blonde JR.

Come see a young cast of teenagers in a fabulously fun international award-winning musical based on the adored movie. Legally Blonde JR., follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Adapted for younger performers, this show features an upbeat original score that is sure to leave the cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! Music and Lyrics by Nell Benjamin; Book by Heather Hach; Music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keef.
