St. Thomas More High School Prepares for Recycling Drive

By Kevin DoanOct. 8, 2015

MILWAUKEE (October 6th, 2015)—St. Thomas More High School (STM) will be collaborating with CasBro CPR to host a Recycling Drive, on Saturday, October 31st 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m in the St. Thomas More South Parking Lot. Anyone from the community who has unwanted electronic materials may drop them off during this time, and CasBro will collect and dismantle all of these items and their components. The money that STM receives from the recycled parts will go toward supporting the STM Green Club, a student-run organization that focuses on enhancing the environmental friendliness of the STM Community.

Over the past several decades, landfills have become cluttered with all kinds of hazardous materials such as computers, VCR and DVD players, and other household electronics. These items contain hazardous waste like lead or mercury, and such items are now banned from local landfills (garbage collectors will no longer take them.) Bringing these items to the recycling drive can help keep our environment clean.
