Vincent Kompany – The Business Man
Vincent Kompany’s life doesn’t stop with football. In 2012 he signed up for a three-year Business Administration course at the University of Manchester. Aside from football he is already a TV-producer, football club owner and Limousine company shareholder. And now the Belgian captain opened two trendy sport bars in Belgium.
The bars go by the name of and can be found on two of the most expensive and visited places in Belgium: ‘De Grote Markt’ in Brussels and the ‘Groenplaats’ in Antwerp. The Manchester City captain always had a dream of owning a sports bar.
Vincent Kompany Sports Bar Brussels: +32 2 540 22 20
Vincent Kompany Sports Bar Antwerp: +32 2 540 22 20
It is not for nothing that Pepsi chose ‘Vince the Prince’ to be in their brilliant ‘We can be heroes’ football commercial.
The 28 year old captain is truly becoming a brand on its own. The businessman in Kompany knows it and is making use of it. The sport bars are made of a mix of classy, courage, and flair a bit like Kompany himself. The bar will be filled with high-tech gadgets, you can pay with your smartphone and customers can play video games. All the most important sport events will be shown on big screens and after the last whistle the bar will transform into a dance bar. You can also find some of Kompany’s match-worn shirts and ones he’s exchanged with opponents in the past, including Roberto Carlos, Craig Bellamy, Carlos Tevez and Raphael Varane.
Not one decision was taken without asking Vincent. Even when ordering tables or chairs Vincent’s permission was asked. The timing of this investment is well thought of, the bar will be packed in June with people supporting the
team in Brazil. For all you beer lovers out there, a pint at the bar is just 3.50 €.
What about Kompany’s other companies and businesses?
BX Brussels – Chairman
In March 2013, Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany purchased his hometown club FC Bleid-Molenbeek. The club were at the bottom of the third division but that has not deterred Kompany, who sees the investment as a social project as well as a footballing one. Aside from basic philanthropy, the Belgian captain is using this as a social commitment towards the youngsters of Brussels. Kompany updated the website stating that he was holding a vote for a new name for the club, Kompany also added his sister to the backroom staff to oversee the running of the club. On 11 April 2013, the votes were received; BX Brussels – is the new name for the club.
SOS children – FIFA Ambassador for the Democratic Republic of Congo
Kompany is an official FIFA ambassador for registered charity SOS Children. Of Congolese heritage, Kompany represents his father’s native Congo, and has invested and engaged in projects which aim to provide an education and safe living accommodation for children living in poverty
Elite Limousines VIP Protection Services Ltd – Shareholder
The defender has a one third share in
VIP Protection Services Ltd. Kompany’s firm includes City as well as their rival United among its clients. Among the cars, they have a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Bentley Flying Spur, a Bentley Arnage, a Chrysler Limousine, a Mercedes S Class, a Hummer H2 and a Lincoln Navigator. They also offer helicopter and executive jet travel.
Bonka Circus – TV producer
He made a documentary tv show ‘Iedereen duivel’ on the world cup qualification campaign.
Here you can see a short funny clip of his tv show on how the Belgian players relax; Benteke seems to be a big californication fan while Courtois prefers to play FIFA on his own.
While most footballers splash their cash on women, cars and other flashy goods, Vincent Kompany has opted to spend his money wisely. We can all be proud to have such an intelligent and philanthropic skipper.
Long live, Vince The Prince.

We are a fan site for the Belgium national football team. The World Cup is a great place to start but Euro 2016 has our name written all over it.
