Brisbane, Australia July 20, 2015: Megaport, a leading global software based elastic connectivity provider, announced today that it has become a Microsoft ExpressRoute partner.
With Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute enabled, customers in any Megaport enabled data center will be able to establish dedicated and secure connections to Microsoft Azure. With Megaport, customers can improve performance with dedicated access to a global ecosystem of cloud services like Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and benefit from flexible commercial terms on an award winning SDN based network platform.
“Microsoft is a leader in the cloud and enterprise space with Azure leading the charge and growing their platform globally. ExpressRoute is an important feature to create a more seamless working environment from enterprise and private IT space into the hybrid cloud environment that we see emerging so strongly,” said Denver Maddux, CEO of Megaport. “We are honoured and excited to have been given the chance to integrate and work with Microsoft Azure, and our customers will be glad to see that choice to connect to their services available through the Megaport fabric and application suite.”
Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute is a faster, more secure, private connection designed for customers who want to build, test, deploy, and migrate workloads from on premise IT to Microsoft Azure with increased reliability, higher speed, and lower latencies. By working together, Megaport and ExpressRoute creates a cost effective solution for data migration, business continuity and disaster recovery, high performance compute applications, and workloads portability. Megaport customers using Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute can provision services up to 10G instantly and deprovision when it is no longer needed, making it an ideal fit for transferring large volumes of data or time based workloads.
