How to Change Login Screen in Ubuntu 11.10

Changing the login screen in Ubuntu is a lot more easier when compared to Windows.

This is because Ubuntu 11.10 uses LightDM which is more faster and also more customized then the previous one. So in this post we are going to find our how to change the login screen of Ubuntu 11.10.

First start your terminal..

Next, you have to add the PPA (Personal Package Archive), use the command below to do this :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:claudiocn/slm

Update the sources

sudo apt-get update

Now install the Simple LightDM Manager using the following command:

sudo apt-get install simple-lightdm-manager

That’s it, you have finished the installation part. Now just go to the unity dashboard and search of Simple LightDM Manager.

Now Run the program. Click location and select your background and hit apply. That’s it you have successfully change your login screen background, simply reboot or logout and login to view the changes.
