How to search google like you were in the USA?
There is a parameter you can use: gl (I think it stands for Global Location)
Here is how it works:
http://www.google.com/search?q=bank&gl=us
http://www.google.com/search?q=bank&gl=uk
In the first link you search “bank” as if you were located in the United States.
In the second one you search “bank” as if you were located in England.
So if you want to search for shoes, and you want to see what results someone form the USA will get (and you are not in the USA) you should search like this:
http://www.google.com/search?q=shoes&gl=us
I learned this also on the Matt Cutts blog a long time ago.
Another way might be to use a proxy from US, and just go on google.com and search.
