Here we brings a good news for all Sony Xperia Neo v users that they can now update Sony Xperia Neo V Kitkat 4.4.2 via a custom rom named carbon rom which is only made for Sony Xperia Neo V users.This rom is based on latest OS Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and build using cm11 source.This rom is created by

Organization which is making Android Open Source Projects to update old Android phones to latest Android OS.Below is a easy guide to update Sony Xperia Neo v Kitkat 4.4.2 via carbon rom.

Steps for Sony Xperia Neo V Kitkat 4.4.2 Update.

1-For Sony Xperia Neo V Kitkat Update , you should have a original Sony data cable.

[Make sure your Sony Xperia Neo V is rooted and has the latest CWM or TWRP recovery installed on it.

2-Now install USB drive of Sony. If you don’t have, download from >><<3-Charge your phone’s battery upto 80%.4-Please make a backup of all your user data such as Messages,Call logs,Contacts,Apps data. Because rom install process may wipe out all data.5-Now enable USB debugging by navigate to Settings>>Developer option>>USB Debugging.

6- Now download these Rom files.

7-To flash the kernel, you have to use Fastboot mode of your Xperia Neo V. To go into fastboot mode, switch off the device. Now by holding Menu button, connect the phone to PC. As soon as PC recognizes the connection, phone’s LED will turn blue & it should boot into fastboot mode.

8-In PC, make a folder & name it as ‘Fastboot’. Using 7 zip or WinRAR software, extract fastboot files zip package to this folder.

9-Move ‘boot.img’ file to Fastboot folder.

10-Open Fastboot folder & Run ‘runme.lnk’ file. This should open a command prompt window. Enter the following commands in that window.

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot reboot

11-After entering 2nd command, your phone will be rebooted. It may not reboot properly and may get stuck on Sony logo. But don’t worry! This is normal.

12-After that ,Disconnect the phone from PC.

13-After following above steps now connect your phone to PC & copy above download file to your phone’s SD card root folder(In Plain sight ,not in any folder).

14-Now disconnect Sony Xperia Neo V and switch off it. Now turn on it by hold power button and volume down button at same time till phone makes a vibrate.

15-Now you are in CWM recovery mode. Select option to clear all your data.

16-Select and click from advance option.

17-Now go back in recovery menu and select option.

18-Now choose Carbon ROM zip file and install it.

19-After that do same with G apps zip file and install it.

20-Now you are done. Select option and click on reboot system now.
