With our lives getting busier and busier each day, what productivity strategies are you implementing to get more day out of the 24 hours that are allotted to you?
Below is a list of some ideas that you can begin implementing immediately into your life.
1) ‘To Do’ List
A ‘To Do’ List is critical. This allows you to keep tabs on a day-to-day basis of all the items and activities that you need to accomplish. Once you’re done with the item, simply cross it off your list. Additionally, it is equally critical that you include completion dates for each item on your list. By including completion dates, you hold yourself accountable to the timeline that you set.
One of the biggest benefits to maintaining a ‘To Do’ list is that once you put everything down on paper, it allows you the opportunity to de-clutter your mind and focus on the task 100%. Doing so will allow you to be more productive, ultimately leading to less stress.
2) Calendar / Planner
In addition to keeping a ‘To Do’ list for your day, it is also important to have a calendar where you can schedule gaps of time to work on certain items. Doing so not only gives you full visibility of the day, but it also gives you a better understanding of how you spend your time.
Additional Note: When blocking out times during your day, always be sure to schedule a few hours of contingency time JUST IN CASE certain tasks take longer than expected OR you need to move things around due to unexpected events.
3) Accountability Partners
If you don’t have an accountability partner, get one! An accountability partner will do wonders for your life. Not only will you get more done, but you will also have another person to bounce ideas off of as well.
When you have an accountability partner, not only are you accountable to yourself, but you are also accountable to another person who expects you to complete the things you said you would get done.
In general though, it is important that you plan your day and your life like a fine tuned watch. Doing so will help you in all aspects of your life, both personally and professionally.
